Neuroradiology

“Because of the vast number of neurologic conditions, a high level of expertise is needed when it comes to diagnosing them,” says Dr. Ronald Kizziar, one of three fellowship-trained neuroradiologists at Radiology Specialists of the Northwest (RSN). Dr. Richard Koesel can’t overemphasize this, saying, “Each modality offers its own particular advantages for the diagnosis and evaluation of neurologic disease, and we are uniquely trained and know which exams are most appropriate for your patients’ individual needs.”

RSN works in consultation with neurosurgeons, neurologists and primary-care physicians for their patients’ neuroradiology exams. Our comprehensive neuroradiology capabilities include:

  • Evaluation of atherosclerosis, arterial aneurysms, intracranial aneurysms and other vascular pathology
  • Identifying skull fractures and brain injury in trauma patients
  • Diagnosing blood clots or bleeding in stroke patients
  • Identifying blockages in the carotid arteries
  • Diagnosing disc problems, spinal tumors, spinal abscesses or other spinal problems
  • Diagnosing autism, Alzheimer’s disease and other neurologic conditions
  • Assessment of suspected or proven brain tumors or seizure foci
  • Localization and staging of head and neck tumors
